Consists of a newspaper clipping from The Courant Magazine of Hartford, Conn. describing the 1859 fire that destroyed the Exchange Hotel, formerly the Exchange Coffee House, the Hartford establishment owned and operated by Joseph Morgan from 1817-1829. Also includes two typewritten letters between H.S. Morgan and F.B. Adams, former director of the Morgan Library, regarding the clipping.
